Where a standard vehicle is not suited, we can design, build and deploy a
bespoke vehicle to fulfil almost any inspection and testing criteria.
A typical application being Scottish Power at Cruachan Power Station. A detailed video
inspection of a penstock was required. This particular penstock had never been surveyed.
The penstock was 6m. In diameter and 400m. in length, running at an angle of 55°
through the mountain. A further complication being the presence of a bifurcation point,
where the pipe divided into two tunnels, each 3m. diameter long and 200m. In length.
We developed a vehicle capable of carrying out the survey. The main vehicle surveyed
the first 400m. At the bifurcation point a separate CCTV system detached from the main
vehicle and continued to inspect the 3m. diameter tunnels
