Adit and tunnel inspection

A UNIQUE CAPABILITY

We have combined our unique Pipe Inspection Vehicle (PIV) technology with conventional
Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) technology to build a PIV which is ideally suited to the
conditions encountered within Adits.

Typical conditions include:

• Difficult and restricted launch access
• Long distances between access points
• Large variations in Adit shape, diameter and direction
• Easily disturbed silt and sediment

The self-propelled PIV has a traversing capability in excess of 1km., neutrally buoyant tether
for minimal silt and sediment disturbance and unique Sonar profiling to accurately measure
the profile and shape of the Adit over its entire length.

The high level of information and detail obtained, enables a ‘benchmark’ survey to be carried out, against which future deterioration can be measured and accurately compared.
